Calderwyn started with a complaint about arithmetic. A charger sold as 65W is rated at the wall, and after conversion losses what actually reaches your laptop can be closer to 41W. The number on the box is true and useless at the same time.
Their response was to publish the port figure instead — what the device receives, measured where it matters. This makes their chargers look weaker than competitors' on a spec sheet while being stronger in a bag, a genuinely poor marketing position they have refused to abandon.
The rest is gallium nitride: switching that runs cool enough to shrink the housing down to something you stop noticing is there. The pitch was never that it charges faster. It is that you leave the brick at home.
