coffee equipment

Ferrous Lane

The grinder is the variable.

This brand does not exist. The name, the story, the palette and the mark were all invented for the Krowdee template library — then the ad was written as a spec and rendered by our engine. Nothing here belongs to anyone else.
The story

Ferrous Lane's argument is that most bad home coffee is a grinder problem wearing a bean's clothing. Change your beans, your water, your technique — if the grind is producing fines and boulders in the same dose, none of it lands.

So they make one component properly: 83mm flat burrs machined from solid stock, in a body that opens with a hex key. Burrs are consumables and should be replaceable. The sealed housings on cheap conical grinders are not, so when they dull the grinder is replaced rather than repaired — which is a business model, not an engineering decision.

It is an unglamorous thing to sell. The competition photographs better and costs a third as much, and the difference only becomes obvious somewhere around the fourth consecutive dose at the same setting.

How the ad was made

25 seconds, written as a spec.

Why this shapeA versus — the most direct storyboard in the library — because the entire brand is a comparison. The middle scene runs four doses at one setting and lets the consistency chart make the case without a word of copy.

A flat-burr plate with swept cutting flutes inside the ring — the one component the entire product is judged on. The mark is drawn synthetically and owned outright — no stock, no third-party assets, no people.

Before anything was built, the name was cleared against the trademark register via TMview (the EUIPO-run aggregator federating the USPTO with the EU and national offices), filtered to live marks in an overlapping class, and then against the open web for brands that trade without a registration. Ferrous Lane came back clear on 2026-07-31.
